Ferrari 308 – 208 – 328: Le guide ASI

The book celebrates the Fiat 500 Topolino, widely considered the first true "minimal car" in the history of Italian motoring. The text "Le auto stradali servono a finanziare le corse" (Road cars serve to finance racing) Enzo Ferrari used to say. Unfortunately, however, at the end of the difficult 1970s, things changed: the economic boom and the Dolce Vita were a distant memory, and ultra-high-performance cars were no longer selling as well.

A way had to be found to offer more "accessible" and less demanding cars without running the risk of ruining a coat of arms that is the undisputed symbol of Made in Italy in the world, like Ferrari.

The Maranello-based company would not only find that solution but also brilliantly execute it with the Ferrari 308: compact, fast, muscular, with all the brand's DNA well imprinted in the magnificent line drawn by Pininfarina, powered by an unforgettable 3-liter V8 with a symphonic sound... in short, a Ferrari.

Just as pure and unforgettable Ferraris are the "small" 2-liter derived from it, the 208, only initially marred by a lack of power but soon brought back to its senses with the expedient of the Turbo, and finally the 328, highly tested and as reliable as a sedan, as easy to handle as a city car, as powerful as a true supercar, and as beautiful as few others.

Today, they remain among the most affordable models from the Maranello-based manufacturer and are particularly popular among collectors: this is why they have found their rightful place in this series – Le Guide ASI – featuring a dedicated volume that is concise and easy to consult, but rich in details and historical and technical information.
